With a B.A. equivalency from the University of Maryland and an M.A. degree in French literature from the University of Michigan, my education includes study in France, England and the USA. In the US since September 1978, I have taught fifteen summers at the Middlebury College French School, one year at both Boston College and Harvard University and two years at the University of Texas in Austin. On sabbatical in 1991, I taught at the University of Columbia in Paris and worked on projects for the development of teaching material. Taught at Phillips Exeter Academy from 1986 to 2002 and moved to St. Paul's School in 2002; I teach all levels of French.
My
professional development includes participation in the production
of Quotidiennement
vôtre de France - a method of French for the radio, in 1981 and
I am a co-author of Les Mots Difficiles, 1982, Drâme à Cherbourg,
1988, Dialogues - Les Français parlent d'eux-mêmes, 1994, and

personal Web page.
I also spent part of my summers teaching a course about creative writing at the Institute
for American Universities in Aix-en-Provence. It was a professional
workshop for highschool teachers of French taking place from around July
10 to July 31. Click on Cours
d'écrit à Aix-en-Provence
